i would be more then happy to help. i can give you the same tools i had when i first started. first off i think poker vids are great my bud gank owns propokerschool.com . wow when i was deans list ther was maybe 40 members now over 3k brett has really good mtt and sng vids so you can see what the top players are up to and mimic some of there moves . after a month of the school i won 1200 on fulltilt and 4 200 $ wins on reefer poker no bs . anytime you want me to watch you play and give pointers i will just let me know ok

How to get better at poker? I haven't a clue...if you find out let me know....lol...no really, my advice is play a lot of freerolls and playmoney games, practice won't make perfect, there is no pefect in poker, but it will definetly make you better. Know the Book, learn it by taking all the free poker tests or courses you can find online, so much more to the Art and Science of Poker, it's almost mind blowing. You can't read players online like you do in real life (that's overrated), but there ploys, tricks, magic, herbs and spices, but most importantly TIMING and BETTING. Timing and betting can enable you win losing hands, but missed timing and betting can and will be catastrophic. Anyway you take all of these and a bunch of other variables and when the mixture is right MAYBE you might win. Easy...

I have to disagree a bit with you doyle. While I agree that there is no substitute for practice, I dont think that freerolls and play money are the best way to learn if you already know the basics of the poker game you are playing. If you use freerolls and play money to learn your play technique, i believe that you will overvalue your starting hand because people play much looser when they have no real stake in the game. With nothing truly at stake, they will play anything to start and stay in hands in hopes of making some lucky 2 outer. I have no problems playing in freerolls, however if you play a real money game with a freeroll mentality, you will be running into much stronger hands and therefore loose more often. They are however a great way to learn a new game, or to familiarize yourself with a new poker sites functions before playing for real.

Not knowing the exact extent of ones knowlegde, I was starting from square 1 and I do concur with you as to the beginnng point to extend ones basic knowledge.

Thanks for replying all , i think i do fairly well until we get towards the end of a tourney , thats where i usually trick myself off , or so I'd like to believe. I also mainly play freerolls or micro stakes due to funds , so mabye I'm getting picked off my the two outers Plumas mentioned. Or mabye I'm one of the two outers.lol

ok for me,in freerolls the closer I get to the money, the more aggressive i become, dependin on the pay structure. In the majority of the fr's i play, there isnt any serious money till the final table, so if i am close to the money, but have a shot at bubling, I am super aggressive, and overbetting my hands. I do this to take advantage of peoples mindset. Nobody likes to bubble, so they tend to fold hands unless they have a premium hand or huge chipstack. In my mind I dont care if i bubble and loose a few cents, so i wait until i get a pocket pair or big slick and then get ultra agressive

as for me, I tend to play too safe, fold shit hands that would take out a few but I still manage to win a few. Patience is an over looked virtue, one I do not posses, even in my old age. Wait and you will win!

the only thing I can add to this is play with in your bankroll and don't be afraid to lose. one thing that i have learned over the past yr that has really helped my game is position. take advantage of having the larger stack and being the first to move. you can gain alot of respect(even if you are bluffing) and chips by moving in strong in the right position. also, playing with the same group of people will help you to get a read on their game but they will also get a read on yours. don't be predictable and only play a set range of cards, you'll not gain any chips that way as they will easily put you on certain cards.

something I have to check my self on as i get down close to the big money in a game is if i call the preflop..am i willing to shove my stack with these 2 cards. early in the game i'll call alot of preflop since the blinds are low..as the game progresses...thats not how I play. Once i'm in the money and/or FT, my play changes alot..i tighten up and only play things i'm willing to go all in with just incase thats what i need to do. GL to ya.
